St Peters Western Swim Club coaching team is highly credentialed and recognised on the world swimming stage and are regularly selected on State, National and International teams. The coaches are supported by a proactive and energetic Club Committee and College Staff who provide holistic, academic and pastoral support for all members of the SPW Team.

Dean Boxall
Head Coach


Dean Boxall is St Peters Western Head Coach and an Australian Dolphins Swimming Coach. Dean is considered one of the world’s premier swimming coaches and he has been recognised as World Swimming’s Coach of the Year in 2021, 2022 and 2023.

 

Dean is an elite coach in his field, training swimmers who succeed at the highest level. He has coached and prepared athletes who have won Olympic Gold, Commonwealth Gold, World Championship Gold and also achieve World Records. He is also currently the Australian Women’s Team Coach for international meets.

 

Dean balances his coaching with complete oversight of the St Peters Lutheran College Girls and Boys Swim Teams for the QGSSSA and AIC Swimming Championships.

Mick Lewandowski

Assistant Coach - High Performance
Is the High-Performance Squad – Assistant Coach and an AIC and QGSSSA Team Coach for St Peters.

 

Mick has been coaching since 2010 and has gained valuable experience in guiding athletes to reach their potential. He was the Iona Swimming Head Coach from 2016-2022, was selected as a Queensland Coach in 2021 and more recently was selected as an Australian Flippers Coach in 2022.

 

Mick loves the intense atmosphere of QGSSSA and AIC Championships and this fuels his passion for coaching in the school system. He has thrived working with Australia's best athletes in the High Performance Squad and his ability to collaborate with individuals to achieve set goals in and out the pool has greatly benefited the program.

Cameron Gledhill - Senior National Age Coach at St Peters Western Swim Club

Cameron Gledhill

National Age Performance Coach
Cameron is the National Age Performance Squad Coach at St Peters Western. Cameron is a platinum licensed swimming coach with over a decade of coaching experience since 2007. 


His diverse background spans coaching in the United States and Australia, working with Olympians and Paralympians. Representing Australia since 2013, Cameron's recent highlights include coaching the youth Commonwealth Games team in 2023.


Cameron’s philosophy prioritises both individual and team success, evident in his track record at junior and senior levels. Holding degrees in psychology and exercise physiology, Cameron is well-equipped to optimise athlete performance. Committed to excellence, he aims to guide talented swimmers at St Peters Western to reach their full potential.


Jacob Hansford

National Age Coach

Is the St Peters Western National Age Squad Coach and an AIC and QGSSSA Team Coach for St Peters. This squad predominantly consists of 13-18 year old swimmers.


Jacob is a former high-performance athlete who represented Australia at 2016 Olympic Games, the World University Games and, the Junior Pan Pacific Swimming Championships and Trans Tasman Junior Australian Team.

 

Jacob’s coaching journey began in July 2021 after is retirement from competitive swimming at the highest level.

Jacob aims to teach swimmers the importance of team culture, unlocking their full potential and having fun. He is very passionate about swimming and uses the experiences he learnt as an athlete to benefit the swimmers he coaches.


 

Andrey Pianca

Junior State and Senior Squad Coach

Is the Junior State Squad and Senior Squad Head Coach and an AIC and QGSSSA Team Coach for St Peters.


Andrey is a highly accomplished who commenced at St Peters in 2020. With an impressive coaching career spanning 15 years in both Brazil and Australia, Andrey brings a wealth of experience and expertise to his role. His dedication and commitment to the sport have been recognized through his selection as a QLD Coach in 2021, 2022, and 2023.


In addition, he was recognised by Swimming Queensland as the Age Champion Coach in 2022, further solidifying his reputation for excellence.

 

Andrey's primary focus lies in coaching the Junior State Squad and Senior Squad, comprising of talented individuals aged 10-15. Known for his nurturing approach and ability to inspire young athletes, Andrey creates a supportive and growth-oriented environment that allows his swimmers to flourish and achieve set goals.
